* Victory and Defeat

Victory and Defeat

by- Sheikh Al 'Ayyeeri (rh)

(Written by Shaykh Yusuf Ibn Saalih al 'Ayyeeri Rahimahullaah (Killed by the apostate Saudi regime, may Allah give them what they deserve, ameen. And grant him the highest position in Jannah).
All praise is due to Allaah Who has made for us a strong religion and Who has guided us to the right path, and may His peace and blessings be bestowed upon the best of creation - the master of the sons of Adam- and may His peace and blessings be upon all his family and companions.

This is the meanings of Victory and Loss that have been underlined by Shaykh Yusuf Al-'Areery in his books (Steadfastness on the path of Jihaad) And we shall mention it here in summary due to the conditions we are in, and we ask Allaah to benefit with it whoever wrote it and read it (say Ameen): - abu muQatil)

Meanings of Victory

The first victory:

That the Mujaahid when he leaves to Jihaad, he has already achieved Victory over his soul and the beloved and dear things which Allaah has mentioned to us in the verse
Say: If your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your wives, your kindred, the wealth that you have gained, the commerce in which you fear a decline, and the dwellings in which you delight … are dearer to you than Allaah and His Messenger, and striving hard and fighting in His Cause}, then wait until Allaah brings about His Decision (torment). And Allaah guides not the people who are Al-Fâsiqûn (the rebellious, disobedient to Allaah). {Tawbah 9:24}

The second victory:

And if the Mujaahid goes out of his home, he has also gained victory over his devil that has been mentioned in the hadeeth which stands in the path of Jihaad to block him from it.

The third victory:

And with his departure he has also gained victory because he be comes one of those described in the Ayah:
"And those who strive for us-We will surely guide them to Our ways. And indeed Allaah is with the doers of good." {Ankaboot 29:69}
And guidance is the greatest Victory and it is the first steps to the Gardens of Paradise.

The Fourth:

And with his departure to Jihaad, he has gained victory over those who destroy people's intention to go forth in Jihaad and make them lazy and keep them back from going. He has gained victory over those from his own people and those who block people from doing Jihaad with all means and tricks and ways.

The fifth victory:

And the victory of a Mujaahid also is also displayed in his resistance on the path of Jihaad despite what falls on him from hardship and what will cause his will to be diminished and what causes him to be lazy, for Allaah has said:
"Allaah keeps firm those who believe, with the firm word (the Tawheed) in worldly life and in the Hereafter, And Allaah sends astray the wrongdoers. And Allaah does what he wills" {Ibrahim 14:27 }
So those who persist in the path of Jihaad and keeps going forth to accomplish this pillar and becomes one of those which fit into the Ayah mentioned has surely became truly victorious.

The sixth victory:

And the victory of the Mujaahid is also seen when he goes out to sacrifice his soul and time and money all in the cause of his foundations and to give victory to his creed and religion. For the fighting for this religion in itself is a victory whether he wins or looses materialistically.

The seventh victory:

And from the meanings of victory is that Allah gives victory to his servants with the clear proof and evidence, for it is with Jihaad that the truth is raised and is uplifted like the way the young boy (and the king of the people of ukhdood [the Ditch]) {Surah Buruj} was given victory.

The eighth victory:

And from the types of victory form Allaah to the Mujaahideen is that Allaah will destroy their enemies with a punishment from him, The Almighty, and the reason of this punishment inflicting the enemy is the Jihaad of the Mujaahideen like what happened to the nations of the Prophets.

The nineth victory:

And also, from the images of victory is that Jihaad also becomes a reason for the infidels becoming poor and dying on their kufr with no guidance. And this is also from the greatest types of victory, for fighting them for the sake of the religion and the Mujaahideen combating them becomes a mean for them to be led further astray and making them sink deeper in their disbelief till their death. Similarly like what happened to Fir'awn and his people due to the du'a of Musa and Haaroon against him (May Allah be pleased upon them both).

The tenth victory:

And from the examples of victory is that Allaah takes from his servants martyrs! Allaah says:
We give to men by turns, that Allaah may test those who believe, and that He may take martyrs from among you. And Allaah likes not the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrongdoers). { Ali Imran 3:140}
For every servant works and does his best in worship to Allaah mainly to enter Jannah, and Jihaad is the shortest of all paths to Jannah, and Martyrdom is the greatest victory that a Mujaahid can gain.

The eleventh victory:

And from the images of Victory in the battle field - and this is the type that all people understand - and many if not most of people squeeze the meanings of victory into this tiny point of view only and this is an error and corruption of understanding and clear thinking; for there is no doubt that all meanings and types of victory must be understood along with this final one... And in our next meeting we shall examine the meanings of loss and defeat... The true meanings of defeat and Loss in Jihaad
The first: Following the religion of the infidels or their desires
Allaah has said:
"And never will the Jews and the Christians approve of you until you follow their religion. Say 'Indeed guidance of Allaah is the {only} guidance." {2:120}
And He said :
"If you were to follow their desires after what has come to you of knowledge, you would have against Allaah no protector or helper.." {2:120}
So when the Muslim goes back and announces his following of the Jews and Christians or any other disbelieving group from secularism or Ba'athism or communism or modernism, whether following it in total or in portion, this is counted as one of the types of defeat, even if the follower gained the pleasure of the Jews and Christians and others from the sects of disbelief, and even if he gained high quality of life, positions and leadership and what he would not of gained if he had not followed their sect.
The second meaning to loss: Lenience towards the infidels:
Allaah has said:
"Then don't obey the deniers. They wish that you would soften (in your position), so they would soften (towards you)" - {Surah Noon, 68:8-9}
and His saying "So don't follow the Liars" is a forbiddance from Allaah subhaanahu wa ta'Ala for his Prophet to obey the Liars - and they are the infidels of Makkah - even though they had a "valid disagreement" Al-Qurtubee rahimahullaah said in his tafseer 230/18 "He forbade him (the Prophet SAW) from being lean towards the Mushriks" They use to call him to stop attacking them so they will stop attacking him, so Allaah showed us that lenience towards them is kufr, and he said
"And had we not strengthened you, you where about to lean towards them a little bit {Isra 17:73}
And some groups have got mislead, because they thought that wisdom (with kuffar) is haram, and it itself is lenience..,
The third meaning of loss and defeat: Bowing down and leaning towards the Infidels and the People of False hood.
"Verily they were about to tempt you away from that which we have revealed (the Quran) unto you (oh Muhammad) to fabricate something other than it against us, and then they would certainly have taken you a khalil (an intimate friend)!" "In that case we would have made you taste a double portion of punishment in this life and a double portion of punishment after death. And then you would have found none to help you against us. "{Isra verse 73:75}
So whosoever obeys the infidels or oppressors, even though he has been promised hell and punishment in the hereafter, only that because of him lowering himself to them and obeying them, he has already announced very clearly like a flag in the clear sky that he has been defeated with the worst defeat. And the fundamentals that he used to take firm hold of, he has lost them totally due to this cowering and obedience to them. And if he claimed with his tongue that he still did not get moved from his original position, his cowering and obedience to those who oppress and infidels make him a liar and announces that he has been defeated. And there is NO meaning to his fundamental beliefs if he contradicts it with the action, as it is counted as mere claims which are false and ink on paper only. For paying lip-service to the fundamentals will only parallel with cowering to infidels and oppressors with what they please. This is nothing than a cursed defeat.
And whoever examines extremely closely what we mentioned earlier from the meanings of victory and defeat, it is very clear to him the ignorance of those that claim with no right that the Islamic Emirate {of Afghanistan} has been defeated. For the clear thinker about these meanings will realise and have full belief and creed that the Islamic Emirate and along with it the head of it, Ameer Ul-Mumineen Mullah Umar (May Allah protect him), have gained victory over the WHOLE world. And Allaah has blessed them and they have attained most of the meanings of victory. And Allah has showered his mercy upon them and protected them from displaying the meanings of defeat on themselves. We ask Allaah to strengthen the Mujaahideen and give them Victory in the field; surely he is capable over all things.
So it is a must upon the Muslim to take firm hold on his beliefs and his fundamental ideology and always announce firmly and strongly that He is the Highest and He is the Victorious no matter what has touched him from annoyance and injury, For Allaah, Our Lord has said:
"So do not become weak {against your enemy}, nor be sad, and you will be superior {in victory} if you are indeed {true} believers." {Al-Imran 3:139}
